LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN LA ROCHELLE
Eurocentres opened in La Rochelle in the summer of 1991. The school building is modern, with space for around 200 students. In winter the numbers average around 100, while in he remaining seasons between 150 and 200 students take courses. The language school is generously proportioned, comfortable and consists of 12 classrooms, a hall, lounge with cafeteria and an extensive media room (library, magazines, reading room, computers, data processing and audio equipment). At the start of every course, participants receive an orientation on the use of the media room, to which they subsequently have unrestricted access. From the school terrace and the garden, there is a superb view of the forest of Mastes in the new yacht harbour. The inner city and the yacht harbour are located around 15 minutes’ walk from the school.
ACCOMMODATION
Eurocentres offers accommodation in host families with half board. Lunch is available in the schools own cafeteria or in one of the nearby beach restaurants. In July and August, the school can also arrange for single rooms in the nearby modern student residence.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school organizes frequent events (imaginative tours of the city, film evenings and much more). Excursions are possible to the islands of Re or Oleron, to Cognac, Bordeaux or to the Fortress of Boyard. Eurocentres is happy to help students plan their recreational activities. The sporting potential of La Rochelle includes a variety of water sports as well as bicycle tours in the vicinity. The school can arrange bicycles, which can be resold prior to departure.
