BREATHTAKING NATURE IN A MILD CLIMATE
Kelowna is surrounded by massive mountain ranges and is in the middle of deep green pine forests, expansive fruit orchards, and vineyards. And right in front of the front door lies the deep blue Okanagan Lake, which stretches 110 km from north to south. The relatively mild climate of the Okanagan Valley makes it an ideal location for year round outdoor activities. In the summer, average temperatures are around 25C, while in the winter, they seldom slip below 0. These make ideal conditions for swimming, waterskiing, windsurfing, fishing and playing golf in the summer, and for skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
OGOPOGO – KELOWNA’S LOCH NESS MONSTER
Everyone who comes to Kelowna should not miss the chance to search for the Ogopogo, the notorious sea monster, rumoured to be stirring up mischief in the Okanagan Lake. Those looking to find some relaxation after the excitement of searching for the sea monster will find plenty to do in the city: galleries, museums, theatre, casino, restaurants and shopping.
