BANFF EDUCATION CENTRE
The Banff Education Centre (BEC) is located on one of the two main streets in the little town of Canmore. Cafés and shops are just around the corner. BEC’s classes are given in 10 bright, friendly classrooms in the first floor in a school building that looks like a chalet. Students meet in the little lounge to engage in discussion, borrow books or watch films. Students also have free Internet access and a small kitchen with a microwave. BEC is a small school and sets great store by serious learning, although there is room for fun as well. For example, courses are combined with a variety of recreational activities. The highly motivated, committed teachers are happy to help with questions about linguistic or cultural aspects.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school offers a varied recreational program both in summer and in winter. The sports activities in Canmore include tennis, rafting, kayaking, camping, mountain biking or climbing, to name a few. Winter is the ideal time for snowboard and cross-country ski enthusiasts. In addition, the school organizes discussions, sports events or film afternoons alternately on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
