DRAMATICALLY BEAUTIFUL SCENERY
A soft and salty breeze blows from the sea towards Folkstone. Along the harbour a few scattered fishing boats splash about in the water and bring in the day’s catch. The small town stretches out quietly along the ocean shores. Around here, one searches in vain for the flurry of activity. It is the perfect environment to thoroughly focus on the school routine. Folkstone’s language schools offer the perfect surroundings to fully unwind, relax and to study English for a few weeks. The nature, the coastline and the sea are well worth visiting. Walks along deserted beaches, dramatic sunsets and rugged cliffs will form lasting memories. There are a few museums, pretty coffee shops and yummy restaurants, which are particularly good in bringing the catch of the day fresh on the table. The helpful and attentive natives are easy to talk to. At the traditional pubs you can take part in the lively discussions while sipping a pint and this is also the perfect place to indulge in the typically British sense of humour.
MAJESTIC LIMESTONE CLIFFS
The exit of the Eurotunnel, which connects France and England, is located near Folkstone. The journey from Calais through the tunnel lasts about 35 minutes. Folkstone is nestling amidst the marvellous Kent County. Here, you can find, for example, the impressive cliffs of Dover. The white limestone rocks rise sublimely above the sea, steeply towards the sky. On a pretty and clear day you might spot the French coastline while hiking along the cliffs edge. Embedded into this beautiful natural scenery are numerous historically and culturally significant buildings, castes and churches. If you fancy a weekend trip to the big city, London is only one and a half hours away. The Brighton and Eastbourne seaside resorts can be reached within barely two hours.
