LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN AUCKLAND
The Crown Institute of Studies, founded in 1972, can look back on many years of experience as a school. It is a relatively large, internationally oriented language school with 150-300 students from some 30 different countries. The school conducts language training for foreigners as well as diploma courses for natives (business, hospitality and travel) in the same building, making it easy and uncomplicated for language students to get in contact with students from New Zealand. The school building is only a few minutes walk from shops, banks, restaurants and Albert Park. A total of 40 classrooms spread over nine floors are available. As part of the school’s infrastructure there is a self-access centre, a multimedia room, 70 computers with free internet access, a large students’ lounge and a terrace.
ACCOMMODATION
The Crown Institute of Studies aranges single rooms with half board in selected host families (full board on weekends). A single room with its own bathroom and Internet access can also be arranged for an additional fee. The families normally live between 20 and 40 minutes by bus from the school. It includes excursions, cultural events and sports activities. Water sports are especially popular, given Auckland’s location on the sea, but the city itself has countless other attractive recreational possibilities.
