La Jolla/San Diego
Where the sun is always shining and surfers are an essential part of the city life, relaxation is bound to occur. Life in La Jolla is pleasant and serene – simply sunny!
ENDLESS SUMMER
Some 20 minutes north of San Diego is La Jolla, California’s vacation paradise par excellence. Cut off from the interior by Mount Soledad and lying directly on the Pacific, it owes its popularity above all to the caves in the steep rocky cliffs, which is especially popular with divers and snorkellers. Visitors are not only fascinated by the cliffs: the long white sandy beaches attract water sports fans from all parts of the world.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING
The vacation atmosphere lasts year round in La Jolla and this little town is the quintessence of the Californian dream. La Jolla- the jewel- attracts the young and the young at heart, students and artists, who meet in the small, cozy cafés or go shopping in the town centre. Along with cultural highlights and a variety of cinemas, there are countless sports opportunities (including golf, tennis, surfing, etc.). Bicycles are a popular form of transportation here, and there is a corresponding plethora of types. A side trip to nearby San Diego with its famous Balboa Park or a little further into Mexico offers a change from the interesting albeit somewhat more sedate life in La Jolla.
