Social plug-ins

Content from third parties, such as YouTube videos, Google Maps material, evaluations, RSS feeds or content or graphics from other websites, may be integrated into our website. This always requires the providers of this content to find out the IP addresses of users. IP addresses are therefore necessary to show this content.

Our website uses the social plug-ins of the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The plug-ins are recognisable from the Facebook logo (a white “f” on a blue tile or a “thumbs up” sign) or are characterised by the addition of “Facebook social plug-in”. The list and appearance of Facebook social plug-ins can be viewed here
If a user views one of our websites containing such a plug-in, their browser will create a direct connection to Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in will be transferred from Facebook directly to your browser. From your browser, it will be integrated into the websites.
The supplier therefore has no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects using this plug-in and therefore informs users of its state of knowledge accordingly:
By integrating the plug-in, Facebook receives information that a user has viewed the relevant web page. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to the user’s Facebook account. If users interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the “like” button or posting a comment, the relevant information is transferred directly from their browser to Facebook, where it is saved. However, if a user is not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will discover your IP address and save it. According to Facebook, only anonymised IP address are saved in Germany.
The purpose and scope of collecting data and the further processing and use of data by Facebook and the associated rights and configuration options to protect users’ privacy can be found in Facebook’s data protection information

If a user is a Facebook member and would not like Facebook to collect data about their person via our websites or connect their member data saved on Facebook to their person, they must log out of Facebook before visiting the site.

Facebook retargeting

Remarketing tags of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, are integrated on our pages. When you visit our site, a direct connection is created between your browser and the Facebook server by means of a remarketing tag. As a result, Facebook receives information that you have visited our site with your IP address. Facebook can therefore assign the visit to our site to your user account. We can use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook advertisements. We would like to point out that, as a website provider, we do not receive any information on the content of the data transferred and its use. You can find more information on this subject in Facebook’s Data Declaration. If you do not wish your data to be recorded via Custom Audiences, you can deactivate Custom Audiences here.

Online data transfer

The internet is an open network, accessible to everyone, and therefore is fundamentally not considered to be a secure environment. Although individual data packages are essentially transferred in encrypted form, this does not apply for senders and recipients. Boa Lingua AG assumes no liability for the security of data during transmission online.
